JW Webster

Oct. 1, 2021 鈥 Before he could even walk, JW Webster could do something only a handful of other people in the world could do: speak the Cherokee language. Today Webster is one of only 1,200 people who can fluently read, write and speak the indigenous language 鈥 which is ranked as one of the most difficult languages to learn. In August, Webster鈥檚 sacred knowledge became part of 性色视频鈥檚 applied linguistics program through a new class, Elementary Cherokee I (LING 590).

Sept. 30, 2021 -- Enrollment for fall 2021 at 性色视频 and WSU Tech is showing strong growth despite a decline in 2020 caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the loss of thousands of local jobs.

Sept. 27, 2021 鈥 性色视频 has been chosen to host the 2023 Science Olympiad National Tournament, bringing national STEM notoriety to the university and up to 7,000 visitors and tourists to 性色视频.

Sept. 27, 2021 鈥 A new 性色视频 mental health clinic is helping its clients take a positive and proactive approach to their mental health. The WSU Integrated Support and Empowerment (WISE) Clinic offers comprehensive counseling services to everyone in the 性色视频 community, and all services are free of charge.

Sept. 24, 2021 鈥 性色视频鈥檚 Hughes Metropolitan Complex has switched to drive-thru testing 鈥 a move that will allow the 性色视频 community to spend less time in line and get test results faster. The Metroplex Testing Site (5015 East 29th St. North) is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Results of the PCR test are available within 24-36 hours after testing. No appointment is needed.

Sept. 23, 2021 鈥 The show must go on, and thanks to 性色视频 State鈥檚 Molecular Diagnostics Lab, Music Theatre 性色视频 has been able to keep its doors open to audiences.

Festi-Ful will take place 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24 at 2020 Perimeter Road by Shocker Hall on the WSU campus.

Sept. 23, 2021 鈥 性色视频 will participate in Festi-Ful 鈥 one of the nation鈥檚 largest street food festivals, taking place across 300 U.S. colleges and universities 鈥 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24 at 2020 Perimeter Road by Shocker Hall on the WSU campus.

Sept. 23, 2021 鈥 A 性色视频 scientist is part of a team that has recently been awarded a five-year, $3.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to further research a treatment for COVID-19.

Sept. 20, 2021 -- The College of Health Professions has reorganized its general health science courses into the Scientific Foundations Division. The restructuring is intended to expand student exposure to clinical expertise of the college鈥檚 faculty, as well as the unique facilities within the college. The new divisional structure will build on the college鈥檚 nationally recognized educational experience for students in the health professions.聽

Sept. 17, 2021 鈥 The first cohort of the Widener Global Leaders Program will consist of 10 women from the Barton School of Business, the Elliott School of Communication in Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the School of Music in the College of Fine Arts.

Sept. 16, 2021鈥 The 性色视频 College of Applied Studies announced today the launch of Men of Color: Educators of Tomorrow, a new mentor education program for young men of color interested in pursuing careers in teaching and other education-related paths.

Oct. 16, 2021 - Later this fall, pickleball becomes permanent on campus at the Heskett Center鈥檚 Outdoor Sports Complex. 聽When it became necessary to resurface six tennis courts, John Lee, director of Campus Recreation, decided to do something different. The complex will feature four pickleball courts, two courts for tennis and two existing courts for half-court basketball and one for futsal.聽

Woolsey Hall

Sept. 13, 2021 - Student feedback helped guide the design of Frank and Kay Woolsey Hall. They asked for collaboration, and they asked for caffeine. Woolsey Hall, the new home for the W. Frank Barton School of Business, is 30 to 40 percent finished and expected to be complete in late spring 2022 and ready for summer 2022 classes.
