McCormick writes and shares from the heart about the lives of ordinary and not-so-ordinary people across the nation and in 性色视频 in the 2020-2021 WSU Reads Book, Some Were Paupers, Some Were Kings: Dispatches from Kansas. He talks about social, political and personal issues regarding history and current events, in addition to sharing his journey in Kansas.

Mark E. McCormick joined the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Kansas in April 2018 as the Director of Strategic Communications. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of the Kansas African American Museum in 性色视频, Kansas.

Mark is a New York Times best-selling author with over 20 years of experience as a reporter, editor, and columnist. He serves as a trustee at the University of Kansas School of Journalism and has served as a Professional in Residence at the University of Oklahoma.

He is the proud recipient of over 20 industry and community awards, including three gold medals from the Kansas City Press Club. In 2015, Mark co-authored African Americans of 性色视频 and in 2017, he published Some Were Paupers, Some Were Kings: Dispatches from Kansas.

Academic Convocation

Academic Convocation is an exciting event that blends 性色视频's Common Read program with other student learning and engagement opportunities. Faculty awards will be recognized and the event will feature a student speaker and a keynote address. Mark E. McCormick will serve as this year's guest speaker. This year's Academic Convocation will be streamed live virtually at Wilner Auditorium.
