Bloomberg Finance Lab to provide powerful, real-time analytics to WSU’s Barton School

The same data, software and tools used by the world’s leading business and financial decision-makers can now be accessed in the Koch Global Trading Center of the W. Frank Barton School of Business at ɫƵ.

is software provided by the financial information and technology company, Bloomberg LP, which allows users to monitor real-time data on every market and provides unparalleled news and research, as well as powerful analytics in one fully integrated solution. The terminal provides unprecedented access and insight to Barton School students and faculty. The Koch Global Trading Center will have 12 Bloomberg Terminals.

“This is a massive opportunity for everyone within the Barton School,” said Dr. Timothy Craft, director of the Koch Global Trading Center and associate professor of finance within the Barton School. “The Bloomberg Finance Lab will transform our entire student experience and prepare them to hit the ground running when they enter the workforce.”

Along with market data and research, more than 2,000 Barton School students will have access to exclusive webinars, job listings, alumni lists and Bloomberg trading challenges. Students will even be able to apply for  certification in the Bloomberg Market Concepts course. Faculty and staff will also be able to use the Bloomberg Terminal for research and in the classroom.

“The content and knowledge that the Bloomberg Terminal provides is going to change the way we teach,” said Rick LeCompte, associate professor of finance at the Barton School. “With access to the latest news, data and trading tools, the terminal will be an integral part of our curriculum going forward.”
