New $100,000 Scholarship Established by the Barton School of Business Alum

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 性色视频 is excited to announce a $100,000 commitment from T. Michael Young, a retired managing partner at The CapStreet Group, to create a new Barton School scholarship for business students with financial needs. Young was a first-generation college student who graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from WSU while married and working full-time.

鈥淚 believe that affordable and accessible education is imperative to the success of our society,鈥 said Young. 鈥淭he challenges I had and the lessons I learned during my time at WSU served me well throughout my career. I鈥檓 excited to be in a place where I can help other working students who desire a higher education.鈥

In addition to serving as a Managing Partner at The CapStreet Group, a private equity firm, Young was the CEO of several private and publicly owned distribution companies.  He has also served on the board of directors of several private and publicly owned companies including Koppers Inc., a global provider of treated wood products and chemicals, Emeritus Corporation, a national operator of assisted living residential communities, and Restoration Hardware, Inc., a specialty retailer of high-quality home furnishings, hardware and related merchandise. Young is a certified public accountant and former partner of Arthur Andersen & Co.

He remains connected to his alma mater as a member of the WSU Foundation and Alumni Engagement National Advisory Council as well as the Barton School of Business Dean鈥檚 Advisory Board.
