Reason or Need for Policy Change:

COVID-19 and the rapid spread of the Delta variant requires the university to be prepared to implement, modify, and/or rescind campus health and safety temporary policies very quickly. This general policy is being implemented to allow for that flexibility and to prevent the need to change individual policies each time health and safety guidance is amended.

This policy was updated to reflect the change in procedure that vacant positions (Promotion, Demotion and Transfer) no longer need to be applied for in the University Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Positions will continue to be posted in the ATS. The policy was reviewed and non-substantive changes made to ensure policy intent was accurately captured and was clear. Policy language of eligibility and applicability moved up to the policy section to make clear these provisions were not procedural in nature.

This policy was revised to ensure the procedures are consistent with current HR procedures and to improve the overall policy language to avoid ambiguity.

This policy is being proposed to establish a University-wide standard for purchasing Computer Hardware in order to ensure that all purchased hardware is compatible the University鈥檚 technology environment and compliant with the University鈥檚 technology standards, applicable policies, regulations, contracts, and vendor licenses.
